Every year I make Buckeye Bullets for special occasions or parties. This appetizer is always a favorite and one of the first ones to be gone. Yesterday I made them for our Christmas Day snack food dinner and thought I’d share the recipe with you.
You will need: 2 packs of cocktail wieners or little smokies, 1 pack of bacon, 6-7 large jalapeños, and brown sugar.
Steps: use meat scissors and cut the bacon into thirds and slice the jalapeños into thin rings.
Next take a jalapeño ring and push out the seeds. The seeds are what create the spice and kick. So if you’d like them spicy keep the seeds in. We do not care for to much spice, so I take them out. After the seeds are out place a cocktail wiener into the jalapeño ring and wrap with bacon.
After the bullets have been formed cover them generously with brown sugar.
Place in the oven uncovered and cook at 375 for 45-50 minutes.
Enjoy these crowd pleasers! Let me know what you think!
