With school ending, two boys finishing baseball, and a family vacation to the beach, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted.
I thought I’d kick off a new weekly series of things to do around Columbus with kids that are free or cheap. The list will consist of what I am hoping to do with the boys. This week is a short list, but I promise next weeks will be longer!
Thursday, June 28, 2018:
Turtle Lady at Gahanna Library 🐢 Free
There will be two sessions. 10:00 am for children 5 and under. 11:00 am for children 6 and older.
We have seen the Turtle Lady a couple of years ago and my oldest loved it. The children are able to see and touch turtles and maybe even a bearded dragon. We are really looking forward to this event!
Veterans Park Splash Pad 🦖 Free
It is going to be a hot one today and I have three Dino loving boys who love parks and splash pads. We are going to go on a play date and check out this neat Dino themed park and splash pad. Tomorrow is going to be a reptile themed day!
Friday, June 29, 2018:
Commons For Kids 🎠 Free
A favorite of the boys and takes place almost every Friday from June 1- August 10. This event is from 10:00-1:00 and is free! Each Friday there are various hands on activities, storytime, crafts, free carousel, inflatables, and sometimes characters and mascot visits. We have a blast every time we go and the boys are always asking if it’s Friday yet so we can go to Commons for Kids.

My husband works at the N. Hamilton Rd. Meijer and the store has undergone a major remodel. They are celebrating with a re-grand opening from 11:00-3:00. Prizes, food, crafts, and activities will take place around the store to celebrate. My husband will be working and he says it’s going to be a nice event!
Cones N’ Concoctions All-Star Day 🍦Free
Our Middleman is participating in the LHYA Baseball All-Star game and we will be taking both boys to one of our favorite ice cream places after the game for a free treat!
Information from their Facebook page: This Saturday, June 30th is the LHYA All Star tournament. Cones is handing out choice of a FREE small cone or a FREE small slushie to any player that comes in their jersey. We will stay open until 11:00 pm that night only to make sure each team has time to come up. 🍦💥🥇⚾️
Fireworks at Pataskala 🎇 Free or cheap depending on what you purchase.
We are packing our chairs and snacks and heading to Pataskala to see some fireworks! The show will take place at Foundation Park and there will be activities all day long. It sounds like a fun event.
