Christmas Around Columbus

Christmas is my family’s favorite time of the  year. We spend as much of it together as family as we can and are always looking for fun and festive things to do. Columbus has so many amazing choices to keep you in the holiday spirit. I decided to compile a list of our favorites and some new events that we are excited to check out this year. I hope you can find something you like too!

November 16, 2018 Easton Tree Lighting Ceremony 🎄

The ceremony kicks off the holiday season in my family. We make it a family event and bundle up to watch the parade and lighting up of Easton. The pre-parade events start at 6:30 followed by the parade at 7:00. It gets crowded, so arrive early to get your spot. We will be by the trains for an event that should not be missed!

November 18, 2018 Holiday Lights Celebrate- Gahanna 🎅🏻🎄

This celebration in Gahanna from 3:00-6:30 is jammed pack with festive family fun! Ice sculptures, carriage rides, crafts, cookie decorating, tree lighting, local venders, food trucks, and so much more! We have not attended this event yet because of scheduling conflicts, but are hoping to this year!

November 24, 2018 Home Depot Kids Workshop- Gingerbread Ornament Build 🔨

My boys love the kids builds at Home Depot! We are looking forward to making a Gingerbread Man Ornament!

Christmas at the Market 🎄

Lynd Fruit Farm is having a Christmas celebration from 10:00-5:00 at the market. Christmas trees, s’mores wagon ride, snow globe, crafts, and a good truck will be there why you shop. Sounds like a cute, family friendly event!

D’Andre Christmas Lighting Ceremony 🎄 🏠

The lights will be flipped on at 7:00 and enjoy at 15 minute long light and music show. We love visiting this house every year and watching their awesome light show!

November 28, 2018 Main Library Holiday Open House 🚂

We have been wanting to take the boys to see the train display at the library downtown and are so excited to do it this year. The Main Library Holiday Open House will also have a special visitor, hot chocolate, live music, and more!

Grove City Girl’s Club Breakfast With Santa and Secret Santa Shop🎅🏻

We are looking forward to attending this event for the first time this year. We love having breakfast with Santa and the boys are excited about shopping in the Secret Santa shop for each other.

Pataskala Main Street Cookie Walk 🍪 🎄

Last year was the first year we attended and we can’t wait to go this year! At 3:00 grab your bag with a $10.00 donation and walk around Pataskala filling up your bag with cookies. After your bag is full find a spot for the evening holiday lighted parade. It’s a perfect family day and it really feels like you are in a Hallmark Christmas Movie!

December 4, 2018 Lego Mini Build Sleigh and Reindeer

Mini Build Model

Sign up as soon as you can for the Lego mini build. The monthly builds are free and fun. It is an event the boys look forward to doing every month.

December 7-9, 2018 Frankenmuth Michigan

If you get the chance this holiday season or next, pack of up family and head to Frankenmuth Michigan. This little Bavarian town is packed full of Christmas cheer. Home to the worlds largest Christmas store, Bronners  you are sure to find anything Christmas that you might be looking for. At night the whole town lights up and makes it a fun and festive atmosphere to walk around in why you shop at the cute shops down the main street. Frankenmuth has been a favorite place to visit during the holiday season since I was a little girl and am excited and blessed to be able to continue this tradition with my boys.

December 13, 2018 Gingerbread House Family Build 🍪🎅🏻

We are looking forward to attending this family event for the first time!

With all of the fun events we have planned throughout the Christmas Season, we are also going to these ongoing holiday events.

Butch Bandos Fantasy of Lights

Pack up the family, grab hot chocolate and coffee, and drive through an amazing light display. Listen to holiday music and see a light display that will please all ages in your family. It truly is an amazing sight to see.

Columbus Zoo Wildlights

Every year we bundle up and head to the Columbus Zoo to see the beautiful lights strung throughout the zoo. A favorite of the boys is the light show that takes place on the pond at the entrance to the zoo. There is always something new to see at Wildlights every year and we try to attend a couple of times.

The Christmas Ranch

About an hours drive from Columbus a magical place full of Christmas cheer is located. The Christmas Ranch is a walk through light display for the whole family. Santa and Mrs. Claus can be visited, a gift shop, a snack shop, train or wagon rides through even more lights, and a huge bonfire are few of the magical activities for the whole family. The cost is $20 for a carload and tickets for the train ride or snacks can be purchased for a minimal cost. It is a fantastic place to take your family and takes place daily (closed Thanksgiving) until Christmas.

I will be updating the list if we schedule more events or find something new to do. If you have any suggestions please let me know! Have a fun, festive, and Merry Christmas!
