Potty training can be a daunting task, and requires a lot of time and energy. I have three boys and with my older two, potty training was hard, long, and became stressful. When it was time to potty train our youngest, I decided there had to be something that would help the process and make it as fun as we could.
After some researching I found a fun watch that could help with the task of potty training. My little guy loves watches so I thought this would be the perfect tool. The Potty Watch is a programmable watch that plays songs and flashes lights. You can set the watch to go off every half-hour, hour, or hour and a half. I choose to have the watch go off every half hour.
I put the watch on Littleman, grabbed his favorite small candy, put him in fun underwear, and explained that we were going to start going potty on the potty. I told him that his nifty watch will play a song and light up and that when it does that we would go sit on the potty and try to go. I also said that every time he sat on the potty or went he’d get a piece of his candy. I made it as exciting as I could and made him think we would be playing a fun game.
He was so excited for his potty watch and was eager to hear it go off and start using the potty. The first day of the watch we stayed home and every time it went off, we went to the potty. He had no accidents! The next day we ventured out in public and even though it was hard at times to go straight to the restroom, we did as fast as we could and he managed to stay dry the whole day. He loved wearing his watch and after 3 days I upped the time to every hour.
In a little less than a week he was fully potty trained during the day. We still put him in a pull-up for nap and at night, but most of the time he wakes up with a dry pull-up. The Potty watch was a perfect tool to add to my bag of tricks and really did aid in a quicker potty training. I wish I had found this for when I was potty training my older two!
