Great Wolf Lodge Stay

We just got back from a little getaway at Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky, Ohio and we had the best time. We loved that it wasn’t a long drive, about 2 hours from Columbus, and once you arrive you don’t have to worry about going anywhere else until your stay is over.

We arrived around 1:00 pm and I went inside to check in. The process was quick and the staff member was super friendly. When you check in they ask for a cell phone number to send updates and to use when it is time to check out.

Wrist bands are also received. The wrist bands are the passes for the water park, and a really neat feature is the room key is in the band. So all you have to do is hold your wrist up to the door and it will unlock the door. You can also decide who gets the wrist bands with a room key on it. We choose to not have that feature on the boy’s bands, but just ours. Also, at check in each child in the group receives wolf ears.

We were excited to hear that our room was ready. If you arrive and your room isn’t ready, you are still able to enter the water park until your room is ready. There are places to change into your suit in the water park area.

We choose the kid cabin suite for our stay because it had a king size bed and a little cabin area with a set of bunk beds and a day bed. It was the most adorable room I have ever seen and the boys were so excited to be sleeping in their own cabin themed room. I enjoyed how spacious the room was and the spacious of the room. The room had an area with a mini fridge and microwave, a separate area with a sink, and the bathroom that had the toilet and shower off to the side. It also had two TVs that had a fireplace playing when we walked in. Very cute and cozy.

A nice touch to the room was the paw print themed soap, two bottles of water, some kids Kind bars for a snack, and a coupon for a free photo book from Shutterfly. This momma loves the thoughtfulness of those little touches.

After we checked out our room and changed we headed to the water park for some fun! I enjoyed that there are areas for every age and each area is staffed with a lifeguard for extra safety. It is also nice and warm inside and the water is heated. My husband and middle son enjoyed the water slides the most and my oldest loved the giant climbing structure with a huge bucket that dumps out water. Littleman and myself liked the toddler play area with a little slide and some fountains that shot out water.

After some fun in the water we headed back to the room to relax and get ready for dinner. What I liked about the hotel is that a restaurant is in the lobby as well as other snack choices. We choose to eat at the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the food. We also ate at the restaurant for breakfast. We pre-purchased a voucher that we used for breakfast that had tip and taxes included. It saved us some money and it was nice to not have to worry about paying in the morning. The breakfast was delicious. It is served family style and it is all you can eat. It consisted of: eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage links, potatoes, fruit, and pastries. Milk, juice, coffee, and soda is also included in the price.

Another fun feature at Great Wolf Lodge are the activities that take place in the grand lobby throughout the day and evening. We choose to do the evening activities.

The first activity was the Jammie Jamboree. A fun dance party in pjs!

After the jamboree dance party we cooled off with some ice cream from the snack bar and then headed back to the lobby for the Great Clock Tower Show and Story-time.

When our fun evening activities were over it was time to head back to the room and settle in for the evening.

We had a wonderful experience at Great Wolf Lodge Sandusky, and I highly recommend taking your family to experience the fun. We want to go back soon and the boys have requested a stay for their birthdays! We might try the Great Wolf Lodge in Mason, Ohio for our next stay. Each lodge has unique and different slides or attractions in the water parks and it would be fun to see what the Mason location is like.

Before you book your stay check out the websites as well as Groupon to see if there are special offers or discounts that are going on. Also, use Ibotta when using Groupon for extra savings. We were able to get an amazing deal by using Ibotta and Groupon to book our room. If you have not used Ibotta I highly recommend it. You earn money back for groceries, online shopping, clothes, and many other things. If you use my referral code for Ibotta, we can both earn extra money.

We look forward to experiencing Great Wolf Lodge again and all it has to offer. We even told the boys we would do the fun MagiQuest interactive magic game that takes place throughout the Lodge, especially if we are returning for their birthdays.

If you have done to Great Wolf Lodge please tell me about it! 🐺🐾
